Have you ever had a skincare routine you loved, only to suddenly feel like it wasn’t doing the same thing anymore?
I’ve seen this happen so many times over the years, especially when the seasons change or someone travels. We tend to assume we need a new product, but sometimes it’s simply that the conditions around our skin have changed.
Cold, dry air can leave skin looking dull or feeling tight. Heat and humidity can make richer products feel like too much. Then we add indoor heating, air conditioning, sun exposure and travel into the mix, and it makes sense that the same routine won’t always feel exactly the same year-round.
This is one of the reasons I’m a big believer in paying attention to your skin rather than following rigid skincare rules. You don’t necessarily need to overhaul your entire routine every season. Sometimes a small shift is enough, like reaching for more replenishment when the air gets dry or choosing lighter hydration when it’s hot and humid.
After more than 20 years working with skin, I’ve learned that good skincare isn’t about constantly starting over. It’s about understanding what your skin is asking for and knowing when to make a thoughtful adjustment.
That’s a much simpler way to approach skincare, and it’s one of the philosophies I built Atmosphera around.
