A Guide for Tailoring Your Skincare Routine to Your Climate:

Posted by Atmosphera Beauty on

As you switch out your wardrobe and plan vacations, remember to adjust your skincare routine for climate and seasonal changes too.

Your skin's needs change with the weather; it may become drier in winter and oilier in summer. Different climates impact your skin differently.

Here's a guide for tailoring your skincare routine to your climate:

In warm and humid climates, excess oil, shine, and pimples are common concerns. It's crucial to use lightweight skincare products that hydrate without leaving your skin greasy. Opt for water-based moisturizers with hyaluronic acid and glycerin to draw and retain moisture from the air.

In cold and dry climates, skin often becomes very dry due to low humidity, especially in winter. Heavy-duty moisturizers are essential to provide the hydration and protection your skin lacks. Dry skin can appear dull and flaky and feel tight, which can lead to conditions like eczema.

During extremely cold and dry weather, avoid hot showers that strip natural oils from your skin. Use lukewarm water and shorten your shower time. A humidifier in your bedroom can also add moisture to the air, benefiting your skin.

No matter what climate you live in, there are some skincare essentials that you should always have in your routine, such as cleansing, moisturizing, and sun protection. However, depending on the climate you live in, there might be some other options.

Learn more about your climate and find out which products you really should being using.
